Classic Vehicle Enthusiasts Celebrate Second Annual National Collector Car Appreciation Day
(CHERRY HILL, NJ) (June 22 , 2010) –– The United States Senate has officially designated the second Friday of July National Collector Car Appreciation Day, an annual opportunity to recognize and generate awareness for the automotive collector hobby. American Collectors Insurance, the nation’s leading provider of collector vehicle and collectibles insurance, is partnering with Hemmings Motor News to commemorate the occasion and help promote awareness of this special day across the country by spotlighting this piece of Americana.
On a local level, auto enthusiasts throughout the greater Delaware Valley region are invited to celebrate at the Cherry Hill, NJ headquarters of American Collectors Insurance on Friday, July 8 from 4 PM – 7 PM. This will be a fun-filled evening complete with beautiful collector vehicles and family-friendly activities.
This is the second consecutive year American Collectors has organized an event in honor of this special day, and all indications are that this year’s event will continue to demonstrate the growing popularity of National Collector Car Appreciation Day. Over one hundred vehicles will line the parking lot, as local hobbyists showcase their unique rides.
“We were thrilled by the enthusiastic response we saw with last year’s inaugural celebration,” says Laura Bergan, Vice President of Marketing of American Collectors Insurance. “It was evident how excited and impassioned the nationwide network of collectors was to have their own day to promote their life’s passion.”
Bergan also serves as chair for the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO), a council group to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) – the driving force behind the adoption of the Senate resolution.
“National Collector Car Appreciation Day was conceived as a chance for hobbyists to pay homage to a pastime that spans decades and touches millions of Americans,” adds Bergan. “It’s a day to drive your special car to work, or to an event, and share your story with the people in your life.” We encourage car lovers everywhere to be visible, have fun with other collectors and make plans in your community or with your club.
