37th Annual Sock Hop and Car Show
August 28 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm EDT

In 1985, then Mayor Robert Chatfield, wanted to organize a community “Sock Hop” as a way to gather his community to foster fellowship throughout the town and surrounding area. The show attracted 42 cars of various types and was a good success. The following year the show attracted 100 cars, an even better success and it was off and running.
On Sunday August 28, 2022 the 37th Annual Sock Hop and Car Show will be held and if the recent and previous shows are any indicator we expect over 750 cars in multiple categories to show on this Sunday afternoon. Additionally, we’ll have military and emergency vehicles on hand that gives us all the opportunity to thank those who keep us safe and respond first when emergencies occur. We think this interaction is particularly valuable to our children. Let me also mention that Mayor Chatfield who started this great event in 1985, is still the mayor and he’ll be there throughout the day
The Show is held on Center St in Prospect Ct from 12 to 5. Goodie bags and dash plaques to first 500 cars.
