Car enthusiasts are in for a treat with the upcoming Mount Vernon Heritage Days Car Show taking place on Saturday, July 13, 2024. This much-anticipated event will bring together a collection of unique and classic cars against the backdrop of Mount Vernon’s charming streets. The car showcase is set to run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with gates opening an hour earlier at 9:00 AM for participants. The first 60 cars to register will receive dash plaques, and all attendees can enjoy the chance to win door prizes and participate in a 50/50 raffle. One of the main attractions for participants is that there’s no registration fee to enter their vehicles into the show. It’s a pure celebration of car culture, where the focus is on sharing and appreciating the beauty of these machines without any competition. There won’t be any vehicle categorization into classes or judgments passed, allowing for a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. The event is located on 1st Street SE in Mount Vernon, Iowa, stretching from Highway 1 to B Avenue SE. Directional signage will be available for those approaching from Highway 1 and Business 30 to guide them to the venue. The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group is hosting the celebration.
