Trophys awarded a BK best of Show – Best Muscle The Bob Stock “The Instigator award” ( He passed during Covid and did not get a Hot Rod send off ) Also the John Schoop award for best Street Rod. Robert graduated from Larkin High School 1961. He was very athletic in School. Swimming Wrestling and Scouts, a multi awards champ. Bob pumped gas, changed oil as a shade tree mechanic in Elgin IL. Bob built some of the area’s first rods. He was always busy never home he also worked at A&P grocery and as the doorman bouncer for the famous teen Rock n Roll club the Cellar. Bob was drafted and served in the United States Army transportation motor pool in the 60’s. Bob wanted to go in the Navy see the world,since he loved to swim, but he was too tall they said. Bob then worked in transportation until he retired in 2022. Robert had a Hot Rod Heart and was always active in the local car scene building several cars over the decades. Bob was member of and served on the board of a few car clubs till he passed. The last club was Northern Illinois Street Rods. He was very funny and enjoyed cracking and playing practical jokes with people. Bob was also a very caring guy, always asking others if they needed a hand. Get a six pack and I will bring my tools guy! Bob passed during one of our only typical winter periods and had a semi private Funeral. Debbie his wife knew that was not him and he would have loved a High Octane BBQ Party send off ! So June 21st we are having a High Octane BBQ Party Car Show send off at the first Bar he snuck a drink at under age and one he frequented for 63 years The Olde Towne Inn.
